We Make The Jewelry We Sell

Holycome started in 2013 with three people, one cutting machine and a simple frustration: the moissanite jewelry reaching customers was either cheaply made or marked up three times over by the time it reached a shop window. We decided to do the work ourselves and sell it directly.

More than a decade later we still run the same way. Our workshop handles cutting, setting, polishing and quality control in-house. We do not buy finished rings from trading companies and we do not pass our pieces through a chain of wholesalers. When you order from Holycome, the person who sets your stone is employed by the company you paid.

What We Actually Do

• Stone sourcing and grading. We buy rough and pre-cut moissanite, lab grown diamond and lab grown coloured gemstone, then grade colour and clarity by hand before anything is set.
• CAD and hand sketching. Custom designs start as a drawing or CAD render that you approve before a single piece of metal is cast.
• Casting and metalwork. We cast in solid 925 sterling silver, 10K, 14K, 18K gold and platinum. All gold is nickel-free and hallmarked.
• Setting and finishing. Prong, bezel, pavé, channel and tension setting, all done by hand under magnification.
• Quality control. Every stone is checked for tightness and every surface for polish marks before the piece is packed.

Why Factory Direct Matters

A traditional jewelry chain adds a manufacturer margin, an importer margin, a wholesaler margin and a retail margin. Each of those steps adds cost without adding quality. Selling directly removes three of those four steps, which is why the same specification costs meaningfully less here than on a typical retail counter — and why we can afford to use better settings and thicker metal than the price would normally allow.

The Stones We Work With

Moissanite

Moissanite is silicon carbide, grown in a laboratory. It measures 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, so it resists scratching better than almost any gemstone other than diamond. It has more fire — the rainbow dispersion you see when it moves — than diamond, which is why it looks so lively in photographs and in daylight. We stock D-Color, VVS1 material, the top of the moissanite range.

Lab Grown Diamonds

Lab grown diamonds are chemically, physically and optically identical to mined diamonds: same carbon lattice, same 10 on the Mohs scale, same brilliance. The only difference is origin. They are graded by the same laboratories to the same 4Cs standard, and they cost substantially less.

Lab Grown Gemstones

We also work in lab grown sapphire, ruby, emerald and other coloured stones. Lab grown coloured gems have the same crystal structure and optical properties as mined stones, with cleaner clarity and none of the ethical or supply concerns of mining.

Every order includes a 30-day return window on unworn pieces, one free resize within the first year, and a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
